Hobbiton| Tyler & Jade’s Engagement

Tyler emailed me from his home in Christchurch to organise a SUPRISE engagement shoot at Hobbiton. We had minimal communication with a brief 10-minute phone chat. We devised a plan on how I'd know he was about to drop to one knee, the old arm stretch/ snuggle move, so I would know when to take action. I had a photo of the two of them, a tour ticket, and I would pretend to be a dedicated tourist with my dual camera setup; I'm the Hobbit's no. 1 fan, haha.

Well, the day arrived, and oh my, did it rain; it didn't stop all day. When I arrived at the tour, they advised me that the tour bus Tyler & Jade were on was running an hour late, so with coffee in hand, I waited and watched as it rained non-stop.

Then hello, an hour later, the rain ceased, just for us, just for our tour time. It started up again as we made our way back onto the bus. Unbelievable luck.

We had so much fun; it was exciting and emotional, and one photoshoot I will never forget.
