Flax Mill, Oxford| Emma & Julian's Special Day
Emma & Julian
When Emma and Julian asked me to photograph their November wedding on the South Island of New Zealand, I couldn’t have been more excited. Travelling from the Waikato to capture their day felt like an adventure in itself, especially with one of my besties, who also happens to be Emma’s sister, by my side.
Their wedding venue, The Flax Mill, Oxford was nothing short of breathtaking. The building was wonderfully ornate, a perfect blend of historical charm and romantic elegance. Despite the stormy weather and intermittent rain that made an appearance throughout the day, it only added to the remarkable feel of their celebration. And when the rain took a break, we embraced the opportunity to step outside and explore the scenic countryside for portraits. The dramatic landscape, stormy skies & turquoise river gave us some truly stunning shots!
Emma’s attention to detail shone in every corner of their wedding. She handpicked and dried wildflowers herself to create the table displays, a labour of love that added a personal and rustic touch to the decor.
A highlight for everyone was seeing Emma and Julian’s two children take part in the ceremony. Their son walked down the aisle as the charming page boy, while their daughter melted hearts as the sweetest flower girl, rolled down the aisle in a wee cart by her brother.
Through rain and shine, Emma and Julian’s love radiated brightly. Being part of their day was an absolute privilege, and I’m so grateful to have been able to document these moments for them.
To Emma and Julian: Thank you for letting me be part of your story. Wishing you endless love and laughter!
