Why you should have an engagement photoshoot!

Why have an engagement shoot? Here are five reasons to have an engagement photoshoot;

1-Well first off, just to celebrate the fact that you are engaged!! Hell yeah.

2-Secondly, an engagement shoot celebrates your love, just the two of you, without the pressures of your wedding day. I think that it is so important, especially for people who are camera shy. I personally pride myself in making people feel comfortable in front of the lens, It’s one of my biggest compliments as a wedding photographer. I tend to find that men are the ones who are usually less comfortable, but by the end of their engagement shoot, most of them say that the photoshoot was enjoyable or something along the lines of “it wasn’t to bad”. This can make the thought of their wedding day photos so much relaxing.

3-Your engagement photos can be used for a multitude of things too. Thing’s like, invitations, save the date, announcing your engagement and a nice portrait print for your welcome table, at your wedding reception. Plus, parents and grandparents flipping love them!

4-One of the most important reasons to have an engagement shoot is to get to know your photographer before your big day. You spend a huge part of your wedding day with them and it’s important to feel comfortable. You could also book your engagement shoot with a wedding photographer to if they are the right fit for you, before you even book with them.

5- Try out styles, make up, hair etc before your big day.

So there you have it, 5 advantages to booking an engagement photoshoot. I personally offer a complimentary engagement session with all my wedding packages for these very reasons. A lovely idea is to include your furry babies in some of your photos too. Some people would love to have their pets at their wedding day celebrations but it’s not possible so ,maybe your could include them in your engagement photos instead.
